Hi, I’m Lauren aka Chica Sol.
I am one half of an intrepid couple from Wales in the UK who love nothing more than exploring the world, seeking unforgettable experiences.
In February 2009, after enduring 14 months in the box room of my family home in Cardiff, working two jobs and squirrelling away every last penny, I embarked on my first adventure. Over the next year I solo travelled to Australia, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Chile, Argentina, Peru and Brazil. My mind was blown and my heart was hooked.
Since then, as a couple, solo and with friends I have travelled across 6 continents and my list of places to visit continues to grow rather than shrink. My appetite for travel is insatiable!
I’ve zip-lined in Costa Rica, trekked to Machu Picchu, spent time in the Amazon Jungle, been on Safari in Botswana, bobsled in Canada, climbed the Eiffel Tower, scuba-dived in Australia, crossed check-point Charlie in Berlin, got lost in Panama, climbed a glacier in New Zealand, held up the leaning tower of Pisa, learnt Spanish in Nicaragua, hit up sand-boarding in Peru and so much more.
Several escapades later, I have learnt that you don’t have to be rich to travel and that the value of a trip is not directly correlated to the money that you spend on it.
I have always had a deep desire to travel and am taking steps to make my dream of travelling the world indefinitely, a reality.
About My Blog
Your travel style is ever changing and unique to you.
In recent years I have found myself doing more of what I like to call H.I.I.T – High Impact Interval Travelling: Taking several shorter trips rather than spending several weeks or months on the road but still getting the most out of each place I visit during my time there.
This has made regular travel, accessible and practical to fit in with my “adult” life. Whilst we’d all like to travel full-time, until the stars align and we are able to do so, this blog covers anything and everything travel related for the modern traveller and is dedicated to all those who crave adventure.
